I Does anyone have any numbers on cost comparisons between Foam Soaps and the solid liquid.

Use to make it using a special dispenser and mixing water it has grown some. I'm looking for hard numbers for costs. It is easier to use and more manageable to clean up.

Any information appreciated

What kinda of numbers are you looking for? Cost will depend on what your current vendor is charging...We use Stoko Refresh Foam Soap that can do approx. 1000 hand washes per box, versus 800ml Liquid Soap that does approx 400 hand washes per soap.

CF Thanks for the reply and for helping me with my terminology. I work at a large Health Club, Solid liquids are the standard. It seems there is more value using foam, there is less waste and in the showers etc I think it would reduce problems with soap scumming ( which involves a lot of other issues for another day). I realize there is personal preference issue but if the same brand or quality of soaps are used it shouldn't be an issue.

Do you get the 1000 versus 400 at about the same price ? I picked up some Foaming Alcohol sanitizer for staff and members at the front desk and it was received well, 1000 washes per bottle and considerably cheaper for the same size of other liquid sanitizers. I'm trying to be able to give numbers to corporate as an effective cost savings measure. I have no direct line to the vendor so its hard to get pricing.

thank you

Pete

I think there a real potential for savings. What kinda of numbers are you looking for? Cost will depend on what your current vendor is charging...We use Stoko Refresh Foam Soap that can do approx. 1000 hand washes per box, versus 800ml Liquid Soap that does approx 400 hand washes per soap.

I am a manufacturer's rep in New England for GOJO Industries. GOJO is the leading manufacturer for hand soaps and the maker of Purell hand sanitizer. I deal with this type of info a lot. Could you please tell me what part of the country you are located in? I would like to have the local reps reach out to you. If you prefer, perhaps visit my website and call me or zap me an e-mail ? www.marketadvantageplus.com

GOJO actually has some great products targeted specifically at Health and Fitness clubs. You can find a lot of great info about it at their website

In general though to answer your question, foam can usually be cheaper. A big thing to understand, however, is that price is not the only thing to consider. As you mentioned in a few of the replies, old style liquid soaps can leave a residue which makes cleanup difficult and can also clog up your pipes over time. Another thing to consider which does affect the price is that by nature, people tend to use more soap when using liquid vs foam. Think about it- what is your tendency when you go wash your hands in a facility that has liquid soap. You probably take two or three shots of soap right? That is because people "feel" like they don't get enough soap with a liquid as it does not puff up into a lather. With a foam soap however, people generally only use 1 shot of foam because it appears bigger in their hand.

Another thing to consider is that some of the older bulk fill liquid systems (where you refill from a gallon jug), can actually become contaminated over time which can be a health hazard. Please see this link for more details.  In a recent study conducted at the University of Arizona, researches found that nearly 25 % of bulk soap dispensers contain contaminated soap. If you were to use a newer system with sanitary sealed refills, you would eliminate that concern.

Last, to give you some real #s to play with, standard "bag- in box" dispensers which a lot of people still use will generally put out about 530 shots per cartridge. Our manual foam dispensers (FMX-12) put out 1785 shots per cartridge or as much as 2850 shots in our larger 2000ml dispensers. Again, people tend to use more liquid as well, so on a BIB system even though you get 530 shots, if people take 2 or 3 shots at a time, you will only get about 200- 250 handwashes per cartridge, where as you could get well over 1000 with one of our foam dispesners.

If you would like more info, please contact me or post back here with more questions. You can find my contact info at my website (www.marketadvantageplus.com )

Have a great day.
